Crown Point

County Seat of Lake Co. – Blending History w/ New Developments

Crown Point is considered by many as the Heart of Lake County. It is also home to the historic Old Lake County Courthouse, which was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974. The courthouse now contains shops and eateries and is conveniently located in the downtown square. Crown Point is also home to the Lake County Fairgrounds which is open to the public and hosts weekly events year-round.

Bulldog Park is Crown Point’s newest attraction. The park opened in December 2018 with the debut of its ice-skating rink. In the warmer months, many of Crown Point’s festivals and events will be held there as well. If you take a quick walk over to the square, you will find a wide selection of restaurants, bars, antique shops and boutiques.

Crown Point is a fast-growing community and in 2018 its high school was ranked #19 in the state of Indiana.

Our favorite spots: Grab a donut at Chemshaw 13 Donutz and you’ll be blown away by their creative selection. For lunch, head over to Green is Good by Kate. She sources everything local and organic in her unique selection of grab n go items. For dinner and drinks, we suggest Station 21 on Main St!
